While I never took a class in ornithology it hasn't stopped me from watching birds and taking pictures of them. I just managed to download this picture I took out my back window on March 26. Though I'm not sure, I believe this is probably a not quite adult Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis). If you know it's something else let me know. It sat in the back yard for about 5 minutes before flying into a tree and then it flew away. This is the first time I have ever seen a hawk land in the back yard! I assume it was there to admire the violets. HA!

Flight of Visitation
